Project Managers

Full-time mid to senior-level project managers for our New York, Chicago, Lowell, MA, and Alpharetta, GA, offices. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities – Primary responsibilities include emergency response, remediation oversight, UST support, development and review of scientific and regulatory documents, field sampling/oversight support, data analysis, and project management. Excellent time management skills needed for scheduling, budgeting, allocating resources, and overall project management.

Requirements – BS in environmental science, environmental, civil or construction engineering, geology, or a related field with a minimum of 6–10 years of experience. Consulting and management experience strongly preferred. RCRA or CERCLA regulatory experience and OSHA 40-hour hazardous waste training are required. Experience with federal contracts and fluency in Spanish a plus. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Junior Technical Staff

Full-time or part-time junior-level positions for offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Lowell, MA, New York, San Francisco, Sacramento, Wheeling, and Chantilly. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities – Environmental consulting work. New hires will be encouraged to cross-train in several other environmental consulting work areas at TechLaw.

Requirements – Candidates must have up to 2 years of professional experience, and a background in a technical discipline such as geology, toxicology, engineering, or chemistry. Experience with RCRA and CERCLA or NCP environmental regulations is desirable. Demonstrated writing ability, knowledge of database applications, and Internet and library research desired.

 

Technicians, Chemists, Environmental Scientists, and Engineers

Full-time positions for offices in Seattle, WA and Houston, TX.

Responsibilities – Site assessments, multi-media sampling, field oversight, evaluating work plans and reports for environmental investigation and remediation projects, project management, and emergency response.

Requirements – Candidates must have 2 to 10 years of professional experience. Experience working on CERCLA investigation/remediation oversight projects is a plus.

 

Risk Assessor

Full-time position in the Lowell, MA, or New York office.

Summary – Perform human health and ecological risk assessment, with demonstrated expertise in terrestrial and/or aquatic ecology, toxicology, and statistics/modeling. Must be knowledgeable about standard quantitative and qualitative risk assessment practices to analyze potential health risks. Responsibilities for this position include those associated with all aspects of human health and ecological risk assessment methods, including but not limited to environmental data evaluation and statistical analysis, literature research and analysis, hazard assessment, dose-response evaluation, food-chain and exposure modeling and report preparation.

Requirements – Accountable for the following:

  • Manages projects from inception to closure
  • Prepares proposals and assists in preparation of large-scale proposals
  • Prepares reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
  • Develops ecological sampling, restoration and monitoring plans
  • Understands the concepts and principles of toxicology
  • Evaluates different analyses from health impacts to environmental multimedia such as air, groundwater and vapor intrusion issues.
  • Develops sampling plans and interprets results of sediment toxicity testing
  • Performs field investigations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of risk assessment/environmental consulting experience
  • Master’s degree or PhD in ecology, toxicology, biology, or similar field
  • Established project and task management record
  • Demonstrated experience working successfully in a team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a variety of regulatory environments (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, State Cleanup Programs)
  • Specialty in metals, PAH, PCB, dioxin and radionuclides evaluation a plus
  • Ability to work with MS Access databases and Excel spreadsheets
  • OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPR and Annual 8-hr. Refreshers Training

 

Chemist

Full-time chemist position for the Port Orchard, WA office

Summary – A mid-level organic analytical chemist with at least two years experience in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to help develop analytical methods for explosives compounds in marine tissues.   Will support multiple U.S. EPA projects, as well so experience with GC, GC/MS, laboratory procedures, sample extractions, and EPA analytical methods is desirable.   Familiarity with LIMS and HPLC data systems, and ChemStation® is a plus.

Responsibilities – Assist our Environmental Services Assistance Team efforts at the U.S. EPA Region 10 laboratory in Port Orchard, WA. 

Requirements – Candidate must have a BA, BS or MS in Chemistry; excellent reading comprehension and writing skills; able to work independently and be team oriented; high attention to detail; and know Microsoft® Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Mid-level Environmental Scientist/Project Manager

Full-time or part-time hires needed for offices in Atlanta, Chantilly (VA), Chicago, Wheeling, Lowell, MA,, New York, Sacramento, and San Francisco.

Responsibilities – Reviewing technical documents, providing meeting and field support, and conducting various project management activities including client contact, monitoring of budgets and schedules, managing technical staff, and work plan development. New hires will also be encouraged to cross-train in other environmental consulting work areas within TechLaw.

Requirements – Candidate must possess an educational background in environmental engineering, geology, or environmental science. The ideal candidate will also have 4–7 years of experience in a consulting setting with project management experience. A working knowledge of CERCLA and RCRA related environmental matters are a plus. Candidate must also be detail-oriented and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
