Outreach & Public Participation

TechLaw has the diverse expertise, as well as a wealth of experience, to provide assistance with public outreach activities. We have supported clients at more than 100 public meetings, often presenting technical information in a clear, concise manner—understandable by the general public. We also support public outreach activities by preparing handout materials and providing logistical support for meetings.

Permitting and Compliance

TechLaw has provided support for EPA and state programs since the early 1980s, particularly RCRA. Our staff includes individuals in all aspects of the RCRA program. We have both developed RCRA permits and reviewed RCRA permit applications in over 855 projects.

Resource Conservation

TechLaw understands the policies and regulations that govern the major environmental programs, including RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, and CAA. For more than two decades, we have provided assistance to clients in determining the regulations and policies that affect them, and have interpreted the applicable provisions regarding thousands of environmental sites.

Oil Pollution Prevention

TechLaw provides technical support related to the Oil Pollution Prevention (OPP) regulations promulgated under the authority of the Clean Water Act (CWA) and the Oil Pollution Act (OPA). Our support includes the following:

Technical reviews (SPCC and FRP)
Assessments and inspections
Database development and management
Spill response consultation
Community outreach activities
Preparation of plans (SPCC and FRP) and reports

TechLaw has conducted OPP services for a variety of government and commercial clients throughout the country.

Training

Since 1983, TechLaw has conducted more than 700 training programs and seminars, which cover over 210 topics, for government agencies and industry representatives. We have conducted bilingual training, developed training and outreach materials in English, Spanish, and Korean, and provided translators for international conferences and training courses.
