Expert Witness Support

TechLaw provided litigation support services, which included the evaluation of experts for potential use as expert witnesses in ten specific areas related to the case, and hiring of experts to consult with the client in preparation of its technical case.
NIBCO, Inc./Sloan Valve
TechLaw identified and obtained four expert witnesses knowledgeable about waste streams and handling practices in the foundry industry, the health risks and effects of exposure to metal constituents, and phenolic and other types of resin binders contained in brass foundry mold and core sands. The expert witness reports were used to negotiate a settlement prior to the scheduled hearings.
Cabot/Koppers Superfund Site
A TechLaw consultant served as an expert witness in a contribution case that involved groundwater contamination caused by a wood treatment facility, a pine tar product facility, and petroleum-related facilities. The consultant prepared an expert allocation report and provided expert deposition testimony.
Dietzman Superfund Site
A TechLaw consultant prepared an expert report and provided expert deposition testimony in bankruptcy estimation proceedings. Issues included liability of the successor owner of land originally used as an asbestos dump and degree of involvement in causing continuing or increased contamination of wetland.
